Window Cleaning – Terms of Business for 4, 6, 8 and 12 weekly cleans
We are a small, local, family-run window cleaning business, and we pride ourselves on providing a reliable, friendly service all year round. To help us keep our service running smoothly and fairly for all our customers, please take a moment to read our terms of business.
1. Weather Conditions
We clean windows throughout the year, including the wetter autumn and winter months. The British weather is unpredictable, and waiting for dry or sunny days would make it impossible to maintain a reliable cleaning schedule. We are providing regular maintenance cleans to your property throughout the whole year to keep the dirt build-up to a minimum. Our cleaning methods are designed to deliver excellent results even in wet weather.
Rain does not affect the quality of a professional window clean.
Points to Remember
1. Rain does not affect the quality of a window clean when using the pure water cleaning method. Pure water is completely free from the minerals and impurities found in ordinary tap water, meaning that when it dries, it leaves no residue or watermarks on the glass. Rainwater itself is relatively pure so when landing on the glass it does not immediately make the windows dirty again. In fact, windows cleaned using pure water often stay cleaner for longer, even in wet weather.
2. We do clean in the rain where it is safe and practical to do so. If conditions become unsuitable, for example due to high winds, storms or freezing temperatures we will rearrange your clean.
3. Please understand that rain in the early morning does not necessarily mean we will be unable to clean your windows later that day. We regularly check the weather forecast the day before your clean is scheduled. So, if you have been notified of our visit to clean then we will have deemed the weather suitable to work in.
2. Cancellations and Rearrangements
We plan our cleaning rounds in advance to ensure we can visit all our customers efficiently.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
Please avoid cancelling solely because of rain or an uncertain weather forecast. We work throughout the year, and cancelling at short notice can disrupt our route and result in lost working time.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee as we will not be able to fill your slot with another job.
We understand that emergencies happen, and we will always try to be fair and reasonable.
3. Access to Your Property
To help us complete our work efficiently, please ensure we have access to the areas that need cleaning on your scheduled visit.
When you receive our notification of your next clean and you will not be home, we do require that the necessary gates are unlocked.
If we cannot gain access because a gate is locked or an obstruction is present, we may need to move on to the next property on our round and return on a future visit. As your slot on the days schedule is missed and cannot be filled during the working day a charge for a missed clean may be required.
Please ensure that pets and other potential hazards are managed appropriately. This includes having a clean working area in the garden, so dog mess needs to be cleared up prior to each visit.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due on the day by cash or online bank transfer. If not possible all payment should be made within 5 days of the clean. New cleans must be paid in full on the day work is completed.
Please use your name or house number as the payment reference so we can identify your payment easily.
We reserve the right to review or suspend future visits where invoices remain unpaid.
5. Our Cleaning Service
We aim to provide a thorough, reliable and professional window cleaning service on every visit.
Please ensure that windows and the surrounding areas are reasonably accessible. We cannot be responsible for areas that cannot be safely reached or for cleaning being affected by existing damage, failed seals, hard-water staining, paint, building work or other pre-existing conditions.
We will let you know if we identify any issues that may affect the result.
6. Water-Fed Pole and Pure Water Cleaning
Where we use a water-fed pole system and purified water, windows may initially appear wet after cleaning. As the water dries naturally, it will leave a clean finish without mineral spotting.
Occasionally, wind, heavy contamination, existing residue or other environmental factors may affect the result. If you believe we have missed something, please contact us within 24 hours so we can assess the issue.
7. Missed Visits and Changes to the Schedule
We do our best to attend on our planned cleaning day. However, because we work outdoors, severe weather, illness, vehicle problems or other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally require a change.
If we need to rearrange your clean, we will aim to return as soon as reasonably possible and keep you informed where practical.
Please note that our scheduled cleaning days for your property can vary on each cleaning cycle.
8. Keeping Your Details Up to Date
Please let us know if your telephone number or access arrangements change.
If you are going away, having building work carried out or need to pause your service, please give us as much notice as possible.
9. Stopping Your Regular Service
If you no longer require our services, please let us know with at least 2 weeks notice before your next scheduled clean.
Any outstanding payments for completed work remain payable.
10. A Final Note
We value our customers and appreciate the trust you place in us. As a small local business, keeping to our planned rounds, working through normal seasonal weather and receiving payment promptly all help us provide a dependable service at a fair price.
Thank you for supporting a local family-run business and for helping us keep your windows looking their best throughout the year.
